The Erie Canal BESS project is a proposed standalone battery energy storage facility designed to strengthen electric grid reliability while delivering long-term economic investment and community benefits for the Town of Lockport and Niagara County. The project is being developed with a strong emphasis on safety, transparency, and responsible site design, including ongoing coordination with local officials, emergency responders, and neighboring residents.

During construction, the project is expected to support approximately 150 jobs and generate an estimated $44.4 million in local economic activity, while creating opportunities for union labor, local contractors, and workforce development.
