Yellow Cat Wind

Project introduction

Yellow Cat Wind is a forward-thinking wind energy project situated across Navarro, Ellis, and Hill Counties in Texas. With a capacity of 270 MW, it is set to revolutionize local energy production by harnessing the power of wind to provide electricity to over 67,250 homes. Scheduled for operation in 2026, this project not only supports RWE’s commitment to renewable energy but also contributes significantly to environmental conservation and public health.

The development is designed with sustainability in mind, conserving an impressive 414 million gallons of water annually that would otherwise be used in traditional power generation. Additionally, Yellow Cat Wind will significantly reduce pollution with a yearly cutback of 992,990 lbs. in harmful emissions, augmenting air quality and promoting healthier communities.

Protecting the environment

Yellow Cat Wind stands as a testament to responsible land use, where each wind turbine and access road occupy minimal space, leaving 95% of the area available for agriculture or wildlife habitat. This project doesn’t just reshape power production but also proactively protects and enriches the environment while supporting the surrounding communities, creating harmony between progress and preservation.

Yellow Cat Wind emphasizes community involvement, offering landowners a reliable, 30-year income stream via private property collaboration. The initiative cleverly integrates renewable energy with existing land use, propelling agricultural vitality alongside renewable power advancements.
