• Company recognized as Early Adopter in Energy Storage Solutions 
• Green Bank Award recognizes companies advancing green energy in Connecticut

RWE Clean Energy, a top-five renewable energy company in the U.S., has been recognized with a 2022 Connecticut Green Bank Award for being an Early Adopter of Energy Storage Solutions. The Connecticut Green Bank established the Green Bank Awards to honor companies advancing the green energy movement and helping bring resilience, health, and equity to Connecticut.

Connecticut Green Bank has honored RWE Clean Energy for being among the first companies to have projects installed and dispatching within the Energy Storage Solutions program. The program incentivizes Connecticut customers to install batteries in their homes and businesses, helping them be more energy secure in the face of climate change. RWE applied for and has been awarded permission to pursue the development of up to 10 MW of battery storage systems for the program and plans to continue its effort to further expand energy storage more widely.

RWE Clean Energy operates a portfolio of 8 GW of renewable energy projects, with the capacity to power more than 2 million U.S. households, and has a development platform of more than 24 GW, one of the largest in the U.S. The U.S. is a key market in RWE’s growth strategy ‘Growing Green’ to expand its renewables business and become carbon neutral by 2040.
