The Dogwood Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a visionary project by RWE, located south of Roopville in Carroll County, Georgia. The facility is set to deliver 100 megawatts (MW) of energy storage capacity, designed to balance electricity supply and demand while increasing reliability and grid stability for Georgian homes and businesses.
RWE's Dogwood BESS will serve as a cornerstone of clean energy storage innovations in the region. The facility’s advanced technology will allow for efficient storage of energy generated by power plants in the region during periods of low demand and redistributing it when the community needs it most. By storing and managing clean energy, Dogwood BESS not only supports grid reliability but also promotes energy independence and economic development in Georgia.
Currently under development, Dogwood BESS is part of RWE's broader initiative to expand its clean energy footprint across the United States. This forward-thinking project embodies RWE’s commitment to enhancing America’s energy solutions by combining innovation, reliability, and support for local communities.
