Tundra A Solar and BESS Project

Project introduction

Tundra is a 130 MW solar energy and 50 MW battery storage project; located in South Central region of Colorado, specifically in Pueblo County. Over the 30 year life time of the project, it will provide monetary benefits to the county through property taxes that will directly benefit the community. During peak construction, it is planned to provide nearly 300 jobs and will employ local talent to supply up to 5 full time operating jobs.

Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC)

Tundra A Solar & Storage project will connect to the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) ISO to provide locaaly produced, reliable clean energy to help meet the ever growing energy demand of growing communities in the greater area.

Environmental Stewardship

As a renewable energy provider, RWE prides itself in harmonious development of energy projects that are as productive as they are protective of our natural environment. This means that RWE abides by all local, state and federal environmental guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the natural environment in the surrounding area.

Comprehensive studies are required as part of the planning and permitting process to protect public safety and the environment. Independence Solar will be virtually silent outside the fence line, while setbacks and vegetative screening will minimize visual impacts. An analysis was commissioned to confirm that there will not be a glare impact on neighbors and nearby roadways.
