Trapper Solar and BESS, located in Routt County, Colorado, is a renewable energy initiative combining solar power with battery energy storage systems (BESS). This colocated project boasts an impressive installed capacity of 250 MW, capable of powering approximately 44,647 homes annually. By harnessing the power of the sun and storing excess energy, Trapper Solar and BESS ensures a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the community.
This project also supports local economic growth. Over its lifetime, the project is expected to pay $20 million in property taxes, with $13 million allocated to local schools, enhancing educational resources and opportunities. The construction phase alone is estimated to create 275 jobs, with an additional 4-6 full-time operational positions once the project is completed.
