The Magnolia Lake Solar & Storage project will connect to the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) ISO to provide locally produced, reliable clean to help meet the ever growing energy demand of growing communities in Southeast Mississippi.

Environmental Stewardship

As a renewable energy provider, RWE prides itself in harmonious development of energy projects that are as productive as they are protective of our natural environment. This means that RWE abides by all local, state and federal environmental guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the natural environment in the surrounding area.

Magnolia Lake will be designed to complement existing hunting land uses, protect the soil, and avoid negative impacts to wildlife. Solar farms produce electricity without generating any pollution, resulting in cleaner air and water when compared to traditional power plants.

Comprehensive studies are required as part of the planning and permitting process to protect public safety and the environment. Independence Solar will be virtually silent outside the fence line, while setbacks and vegetative screening will minimize visual impacts. An analysis was commissioned to confirm that there will not be a glare impact on neighbors and nearby roadways.
