The Independence Solar project will connect to the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) ISO to provide locally produced, reliable clean energy to help meet the ever growing energy demand of growing communities in South Louisiana.

Comprehensive studies are required as part of the planning and permitting process to protect public safety and the environment. Independence Solar will be virtually silent outside the fence line, while setbacks and vegetative screening will minimize visual impacts. An analysis was commissioned to confirm that there will not be a glare impact on neighbors and nearby roadways.
